Mission Statement

Newport Balboa Sailing & Seamanship Association (NBSSA) is not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) educational foundation that is dedicated to the support, development and growth of sailing with an emphasis on young sailors at all levels of experience. At the forefront of its mission is: program development; education; sponsorship of sailors, events and activities; and, the promotion of sailing and seamanship to expand the knowledge, skills, abilities, and the enjoyment of and participation in the sport of sailing in its many varied forms.

Primary Goals

• To introduce the joy and excitement of sailing and other boating activities to sailors from all walks of life
• Support Junior Sailing and other boating educational programs, activities, and events
• Develop and sponsor training programs for sailors committed to advancing their skills, through sponsorship, the sailing activities of youth sailors at the highest levels of youth training and competition
• To teach, advance and actively promote the Corinthian Spirit, sportsmanship and excellence in seamanship, and safety to existing and new generations of young sailors through the teenage years.
